Today, my OH and younger son spent the day building a raised area for the Whippets. There is still room for their crates and basket underneath but they can sleep "up top" if they wish. Its about 27" high and they obviously like it!

GREAT JOB Juley!! You've been talking about doing it for ages. Where did you find the time today when you've got all those lovely timewasters to keep your attention??

Hmmmm I only see two crates. Where is Miss Daisy's and Miss Lily's?

Ahhhh, well you see, Miss Daisy and Miss Poppy had the crates. Now there is PLENTY of room up top so there just happens to be 2 spare crates. Just in case there happened to be 2 spare pups!!!

 Brilliant job done. Looks like you have some happy whippies there.......

That looks great, I could do with something like that for mine, crates look pretty ugly really don't they but yours look like nice and posh now

We have just had a new kitchen and I want my OH to do the same sort of thing down the 'dog' end of the room for Rupert. We are going to use a worktop but I want him to put a lip on it because I thought the beds would slip off. Do you find this to be a problem???

Dessie on Millie's pc!!

We bought wood for a lip but have left it for now. The wood we used was some pine from a great local shop. It isn't as slippy as worktop. I have put vet bed down now under the blankets and it hasn't moved. I think the lip would have to be small or it might put them off. I did think about sticking rubber down but am happy the vet bed is staying put. My poor Chelsea is such a wuss that she has to encouraged to jump down! (w00t) Off course she gets up just fine on her own. Poppy ( you can just see her head in the pix) loves it and Daisy likes it up there too. It is quite deep ( about 36"). Of course it leaves 2 spare crates and I have homes for all but 2 of my pups! I'm really pleased with it, l have been asking ( nagging, Mark says) for ages to get it done.

Looks brilliant.

Now if that would stop them wanting to be in our bed I could easily persuade my OH -_-
