Went out walking this afternoon with the dogs, came across a lady trying to catch her dog,the dog was running around not paying any attention to this lady, she was calling it,but nothing.I said i would try and catch it for her.The lady said i cant wait here for it i'm off to the hairdressers to have my hair done,i just looked at her and said you cant go off and leave him this is a busy road,he will get knocked down, she didnt seem worried about him,she said she was off to have her hair done.Isaid if this was one of my dogs i would cancel my hairdo, the dogs come first always. She then handed me her house keys and a collar and lead and then got in the taxi.I could not believe what i just witnessed. It took me 10 mins to catch the little chap and put him in his house, what might have happened if i was not there for the little chap? Lady P, (w00t) (w00t) (w00t)

OMG!! There are some seriously odd people around! Poor dog being owned by someone like that! Lucky you were around. :)

I am struggling for words here!

How on earth could anyone leave their dog for a haircut ffs! And then to give your housekeys to a complete stranger (no slur intended Ladyp - I'm sure you're totally trustworthy  ) and make them responsible for the safety of your dog.................it's very rare that I can't find the words to express how I'm feeling, but I'm just sat here shaking my head in disbelief!

Crikey (w00t) She gave you her keys too!!!!!!

Beam me up Scottie 'cos I must be on the wrong planet

It doesn't bear thinking that some people will treat their dogs this way

I wonder ... is that a tale that needs telling to your local dog warden ladyp? She doesn't sound like a very responsible dog owner. (w00t)

That story reminds me of the morning I was getting married. My beagle had got out in the village [no real worry about much traffic then] and I went out looking for him. I was getting married in 1/2 hours time. One lady came out of her house and I asked if she had seen him. She said no, but she couldn't help me look as she was going to watch the wedding

Oh i say..............some funny people about

isn't there. I dont know, giving her dog and keys

to you for the sake of a haircut

Ladyp you're a star sorting that poor little dog out - no wonder it didn't want to go near it's stupid owner - totally unbelievable

That is unbelievable, what sort of person puts a hairdressing appointment before their dog's safety?

Quite apart from the dog who would hand their house keys over to a complete stranger? Very odd

The woman is obviously deranged, hope her hairdo is vile

Like ALL the other post I am ******* Stunned that someone could just leave their dog to run free, with potential to cause a serious accident, Killing itself or somebody AND just give her keys to a stranger all for the sake of a haircut. (w00t)

jayp has got it right.she must be deranged and i hope her bloody hair drops out

I must be a cow because I'd of nicked the telly or summat!

Nahhh!!!! I'd have nicked the dog :) And then left her telly out in the rain, & then posted her keys back through the letterbox so she was caught in the rain with her new hairdo.

Vindictive...Me.... Yep!!!
