Over the Moon, a young bitch in her first year of racing was beginning to make a name for herself, winning bend weight classes, then a complete bitch final and the icing on the cake, runner up 20lb bitch at the BWRA Bend Championships.

Her owner, back into the sport after a long break, was delighted, then the disappointments started. Firstly she was given a name by the old FED which of course a lot of us 'old uns' kbnow was a bitch who was runner up supreme at a 1984 FED straight championships - N.Ch. Over the Moon, owned by the late George Perry.

Now the BWRA Bend Championships report in WN does not in fact even give the 20lb runner up bitch but misses the 18lb bitch which was Tiger Venture and calls the 20lb runner up bitch Tiger Venture. In the reading on the opposite page it clearly says well done R.Ch. You Dare and runner up Waterford?

This of course could just have been a BWRA report mistake but to add insult to injury thge Southern Region of the BWRA does not even mention her whilst congratulating other runners up for the region and her local club South East WRC contratulates everyone who won and runner up at the bend champonships = except - you guessed it - Over the Moon.

Our dogs run their hearts out and please their owners so much by a little win but this case a really big OOphs somewhere. Can anyone throw any light on why this report went so wrong.

It's a good job you mentioned this Rocky as I personally wouldn't have noticed if the whole thing was jumping off the page and biting me in the face. Such a shame not to get mentioned by the regional reporter either (believe me I know the feeling very well indeed - Moany Moany does not exist in regional reports as of yet and to date she has won a fair few bits and pieces including a Golden Jacket Bend Class which with one eye is bloody daring on her part if I - as proud owner - may say so myself) It can be disheartening to racers not for the glory for themselves but for the recognition for their much loved pets.

Well Done Over the Moon on your achievements may there be more to follow for you and your unmentioned pals.

Incidentally if you also read the Champs r-ups Connors Lass is bred SELIM COOL X Unraced bitch NOT as is stated Amega Blue x Dessie's Image (at least she had some breeding this time)

I'm sure it hasn't been done intentionally to anyone, if the owner or another member of the region points it out i'm sure all will be sorted in the next issue!

WE TO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM,AT THE I,B,M PRESENTATION HELLBOUNDS CLASS WIN WAS GIVEN TO COAST TO COAST, AND IN THE WRITE UP IN W,N ITS GIVEN TO SOUTHERN SCOTT, I KNOW MISTAKES HAPPEN, BUT WHEN IT SOMEONE NEW TO THE SPORT, AND THEY HAVE A GOOD DOG LIKE SHE IS, HER OWNER I KNOW WOULD HAVE LOOKED TO SEE HER IN THE WRITE UP, I DO THINK THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A GENUINE MISTAKE AND IF YOU LET THE EDITOR KNOW IT WILL BE PUT RIGHT,

dear rocky im sorry for the mistake of missing over the moon out in my southern report and would like to say i will try to ammend this in my next report as you know like a lot of us in this sport we always get pulled on things when there not right but we get no thanx when we are right, and do a good job i would just like to say in my defence i work 12 hr shifts and fit in reports when i can as you can ask this in the whippet news i dont always get them in on time but try my best to. and i sometime finnish reports by saying if i have missed anyone out im sorry my number is in the whippet news so if i ever miss anyone just bell me .

i know the feeling tony ur lucky you know the members in your region i didnt find out until i had written my first report and they complained i had either put in dogs that weren in my region or i had missed dogs off

i noticed that even though over the moon was not in the runner up list or in the write up there was a picture in the runner up page so she wasnt completely forgotten it must have been a mishap
