I understand people have been looking for entry forms

for the Oxford Open on 15th of May I have sent some out Cherry Hill will have some at the Independent and I will have some at the Champs failing that you or you can get them from me along with direction at june@jmcdonald34.fsnet.co.uk.

Hi June

Can you tell me what the handicap is for veterans? The ad in the Whippet News only says 2ft per lb, but doesn't mention if there is any further handicap for age (ie 1 yard per year as usual). At 9 1/2years old, our Squeaks needs some extra help against the youngsters!

Sorry June you eyes are not decieving you no age allowance. It was oked at our AGM and we just thought we would give it a try. At Oxford dogs don't get age allwance in club racing we just run all the veterans together and it seem to work ok. Its difficult trying to find the best way to run veteran group and we have tried by bringing in the 5 year old group and also having two age group and three weight groups in the veterans and at 2 foot a pound we have tried to accomodate as many as possible but it bound to put some at a disadvantage. Sorry if this is you - but as we are new to this game we will take on board any sudgestion for next year - if we manage a next year.

Unfortunately there is no camping at Oxford for our Open but any one coming from a distance and wanting to come the day before there is an excellent Caravan & Camping site less than two miles from the club which has a pub and shops with in about 6oo yards and nice walks by the river and canal. Tel. 01865 244088. Any one wanting more info contact me.
