PA
Meet the beautiful Pa. He is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound boy who wasn’t quite fast enough for the track. Pa has been handed in to us along with his sister Crystal, who is also looking for her new home. Pa has a gorgeous light brindle coat that is lovely and soft to the touch. He has an irresistible ‘love me’ expression and is a real eye-catcher.
Pa is a very friendly boy and greets everyone with a non-stop wagging tail. He has a smashing character and temperament and we hope he doesn’t have to wait too long for his forever home. Pa is quite a chilled boy and we know he’s just going to adore the home life.
Dear Pa has been brilliant with all the other dogs he has met so far, including a small terrier. He is not cat friendly, but we feel he would love to go to a home with another doggie friend to keep him company and to play with during the day.
Like most greyhounds, Pa is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. So far he hasn’t seen much outside of racing kennels, and introducing him to the vast world is going to be such a joy.
Pa has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
This boy has oodles of character just waiting to show itself, and he’s sure to be a very rewarding family member.
Pa is currently being kennelled in Co. Cork, Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.
Pa is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Pa, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
