It's not funny at all is it, I think Teddy Long and Teddy Short Legs are mature enough for their own baskets. :- "
I agree as all those long bony legs just dont make for a comfortable night
Sadly, no matter how many times i turf them out, Ellie just brings them right on back (w00t)
05whippet said:Yes it is funny! :teehee: I know the answer ... you'll have to buy a bigger bed. (w00t)
Yep, if she accumulates any more Teddy whatever the length legs, its definitely gonna be a kingsize next!! (w00t)

Yep, even when they steal your duvet, hog your bed, poke you in the back with those long bony legs, wake you up by shoving their cold wet nose in your ear, you just have to love em. (w00t)
lalena said:where did the little toy come from? its identical to the one amber had, when we brought her home. bless her, i think theres still a leg in the back garden somewhere. she adored it, and for the 1st year we had her, that toy went everywhere
Well there's a bit of a story to this toy, isnt there Pamela (w00t)
Ellie has had Teddy Long Legs since day one that we went to pick her up & she loves this damn toy.
BUT, i have 2 evil Affies called The Krays & they just hated him from the offset & didnt help that Ellie used to leap out of bed every morning with him in her mouth, squeaking him furiously & stand at the top of the stairs tormenting The Krays.
They were out to get him, so for a long time we kept him hidden up in the bedroom during the day until one day i came home at lunchtime, opened the front door & there lying on the floor was Teddy Long Leg's head (w00t) , The Krays had broken into the bedroom, ramsacked it, found him & decapitated him, he never stood a chance
I gathered up his remains as quick as i could & hid them cos i knew Ellie would freak out & sent my mum out that very day to try & find another one for her. The only one she could find was Teddy Short Legs. So that night i put him on the bed ready for Ellie & held my breath. Well she looked at him in disgust, then looked at me (i hid behind my book & made out i knew nothing) :- "
Well she prodded him then tossed him straight off the bed, so to try & make things right i leapt out of bed picked him up & said "oh no Ellie you've hurt poor Teddy Long Legs", then shrieked " OH NO Teddy Longs has broken his legs"
With all the fuss, she must have thought she best make it up to him cos from that moment she took to him & the funniest was the next morning when she leapt out of bed with him seeing The Krays faces at the bottom of the stairs, they were real mad
Well that was a few months ago & since then we managed to find another Teddy Long Legs on the Whippet Rescue stand so she now has the 2 of them.
Unfortunately their days are numbered & they are kept in hiding in the top of the wardrobe during the day but its only a matter of time i guess before The Krays seek their revenge
i'm always amazed at how much amber actually understands. she knows when we talk about her, even when we're careful not to mention her name  pulled my heartstrings when we talked about the last few puppies being sold. as i said to my oh, that maddy was leaving at the weekend, she looked straight at me and started whining no matter what people say to the contrary, i KNOW she understandsOEH said:What a lovely funny story about the teddies (if rather sad for the original teddy). Thanks that really cheered me up  . I agree with Lalena that next time you see them for sale you should buy the whole stock . I thinnk its true that whippets understand English- she believed what you were saying about the broken legs :- "

Ellie understands everything i say (not me being mad at all :- " )
She understands Aaaahhh poor Teddy so i guess she just thought he was hurt.
I will try & get some more if i see any cos The Krays have broken into the room twice since but luckily didn't find them in the wardrobe, but just trashed the room in temper, tore my curtains down & shredded my duvet

Dont think just one a week would curb that evil pairs appetite
It's the damn squeaking that sends them nuts & Ellie does it all the more to wind them up
