We came about it in an unsual way lol... we bought a patterjack dog after having lost my german shepherd and really thats all id ever had. I felt i couldnt possibly replace the last one and was bound to be dogless. A friend of mine had black and tan russells and i quite fell in love. I set on the road to find a russell and came across a dog Spud the Stud we call him who was a patter jack. We bought him and I fell in love. Cut a long story short felt must have a bitch but found 2 sisters patter jacks and again fell in love. Bess and Tess. Well all this love Bess fell in love with Spud and made babies the most adorable puppies that went on to make the most super family dogs. All are growing up to be the most intelligent and well trained dogs and some are to go on to do agility. Well, another long story short i decided to find out more about patterdales and low and behold i was hooked. I bought a rough coated patterdale Milly who is 12 weeks old breeding is patterdale but not fully known and Molly who is a full blooded Brian Nuttall pup chocolate bloodlines Copper, diesel, Nipper. Toady, Miner, etc etc. she is just 9 weeks old so a bit of lie as we havent started breeding the full patterdales yet needed to edit the post above but it wouldnt let me. but have got together my foundation stock. These little beautys you wouldnt want to sell to family homes they need to work. The patterjacks just tend to be calmer and seem to addapt more to family life, correct me i may be wrong. I must admit I wouldnt want to see the patterdales crossed with anything else this just seems to work really well. I would love to find a black nuttall dog for Bess next time to put back more patterdale.

I play at working the dogs, as I breed welsh sec C and D ponies so would be quite happy to let them do the ratting when old enough. The three patterjacks catch the odd rabbit and funnily enough the last two years we havent seen many rats maybe because of the dogs. The odd fox appears in the field but when he hears the dogs he is gone big time lol....;I

I would love to hear about your working patterdales as I have a load to learn .

id guess the black and tans are lakelands or russell crosses as russells are predominately white bodies.would suggest you join the fell and moorland working terrier club JUST incase 1 of your terrier goes to ground and you cant find it,at £10 per year, its nothing..

yes im already a member i joined last month thanks though

when i speak to my friend i shall laugh and say are they x with lakelands ive been waiting for a moment like that lol dont worry she is my very best friend :D

I have a Lakeland x Jack Russell and she is a fantastic working dog. She is also very fast for racing
