PERCY
Percy is a 2 year old greyhound boy who never had any interest in the racing life. He is a lovely big boy with a white coat and fawn patches and a very pretty face. His ears can also stick straight up when he’s alert, making him a very impressive looking hound.
Percy is very affectionate with people he knows and is super gentle and placid considering his age. He likes to play in short bursts and then is content to laze away in the sun.
He is also, sadly, a very shy boy and so we are looking for a special, patient home that will give him time to come out of his shell. He can get very stressed and anxious if too much is asked of him, and the sudden, loud actions of young children can frighten him. As such we feel Percy would do best in a quiet home with adults or older teenagers and perhaps another confident, relaxed dog that he could learn from and lean on when unsure.
Percy is good with other dogs provided they aren’t right up in his face. He is brilliant with cats and is currently in a foster home with cats and other dogs where he is being very well behaved. He is also fine with chickens and just ignores them. Like most greyhounds, Percy will not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.
Percy has been in a home for a while now and is well behaved in the house. He is fully housetrained and is quiet through the night. He does, however, not like being left alone and this issue is being worked on now in his foster home.
Percy is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK where he waits to be adopted. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. PLEASE NOTE that due to Percy’s behavioural problems that will need continued work post-adoption, we would like to home him only within the Norfolk area as this is where our team is centered and so can offer the needed help and support to his new owners.
If you are interested in adopting Percy, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and adoption information pack. Thanks!
