PERRY
Perry is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound boy who was not fast enough for the track. He has a lovely black tuxedo coat that is in good condition and is satin soft to the touch.
Perry is a really lovely boy and is great fun to be around. He is super friendly, inquisitive and playful and always makes us laugh. He adores lots of fuss and cuddles and really enjoys just being around people.
Perry gets on well with the other dogs in our kennels and enjoys a good offlead romp with them. He walks well on the lead and is also clean in the house. He has not been tested yet with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required.
Like most greyhounds, Perry is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. This lovely boy is going to absolutely love being part of a family and getting out and about to experience the world.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
Perry is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Perry, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
