I'm so stressed right now, me and my ex split up 8 years ago, he agreed to keep paying our dogs insurance, I had the dog stupidly I believed him and he's told me that my dog has no insurance now. He needs to go the vets but I can't take him because he has no insurance. He's 12 and I have to get insurance for him but I don't know which. I've looked at Waggel but some are saying they don't pay and say everything is pre-existing, I know you could say that for others but still, I just feel so sick.

To be honest, if he needs to go to the vet, then his condition exists now and therefore it is pre-existing.

I'm sorry you are in this position, my dog is also a senior and I decided to change his insurer last year as the one I had became really expensive. There are quite a few in the region of £500 per year but like you, I am not covered for pre-existing conditions.

You could contact a few vets and shop around, I find independent vets tend to be cheaper, and vets that do farm work also seem to be cheaper too.
