I'm sure this has been discussed before, but i am so confused! I have a 4 year old bitch crossbread I got from dogs trust, I got 1 month free petplan insurance that is about to run out ... they want £20 a month for their life cover ... seems a lot, but if I get a plan that isnt life cover they only payout for 12 months, is that a gamble? ... also ... with the lifetime plans, what is to stop them putting your premiums upto unmanagable sums to get rid of you if your pet is ill?

any advice on this would be welcomed :)

I used to be with petplan and found them very expensive..I am now with argos platinum and only pay £13 a month.

Not too sure if the premiums will rise as I have only recently changed.

I've insured with Healthy Pets since Rifle was a pup (he's almost 5 now). Several claims, no problems. I have the highest level of cover and pay £15 per month. The premium does seem to rise each year but only by a very small amount and, as they pay out promptly etc then I'm happy enough.
