I hate finding dog poo on my walk as much as the next person. Of course i pick up after my dogs. But if my dog has an upset stomach and squats - it doesn't necessarily follow that he has left any deposits other than a liquid splash. I have been bad mouthed twice in my rural community for not picking up fresh air in the middle of a cut silage field on a farm for whom I work - not a public footpath. Have I really got to go through the motions of pretending to pick something up just to save face? I'm probably just venting.

When it's just water/fluid there isn't much you can do!

If there is some solidity to it no doubt you pick up what you can.

the only other option is maybe taking a bottle of water out with you, so when your dog goes and you cant pick it up because it's so runny then pour some water on it to wash some of it away?

And It's not nice when people give you grief, especially when you are one of the few good ones that do pick up after your dog!

I'd love to take pictures and report people for not doing it and then they get fined! Teach them lesson!

I've picked up and bagged a handful of leaves, stones or just soil and mud a few times because of a poo I genuinely just couldn't find!! What do you do when it's gone?!! :>

My dog squatted at the far end of a field in long grass yesterday and only the tips of her ears were visible from the depth of beautiful lush green. It was too far to pinpoint and the grass to long to go rummaging so unfortunately I helped myself to some grass and soil from the nearby area because it just wasn't there! :ermm:

I made up for it this morning by picking up the enormous poo (in various places all the way as well) someone left on the path in our local churchyard. There was no way the owner could possibly have missed that but I had bags in my pocket and couldn't have just ignored it if I tried. I figure that makes me straightened out and even again.

The dog warden has been hanging out trying to catch whoever isn't picking up after their dog nearby our house and people warn me he's down the lane which I find odd. "Be careful! Dog warden is down there!" as though he has a net and will throw us in the van just because he's mean. It's good that he's there cos I'm sick to death of having to manoeuvre my dogs, bikes and / or shoving people suddenly out of the way because they're about to stand in a huge pile of poo it's impossible to miss. Trouble is the dog warden wrote on the path itself with bright yellow spray paint and then sprayed the remaining poo with blue paint just to make everyone aware of what he's on about.

Almost looks as bad as the poo itself now when you walk along that way but never mind.
