After reading some comments on the copyright thread, I thought it only fair to seek the permission of racers with regards to posting on k9 and supplying whippet news. I know many have given the verbal consent however, I'll draw up a document for people to sign. In the meantime...

Please can you state below if you have any objections to either yourself or your dog(s) having their photographs taken. Can you also state if you have any objections to them being posted on/in any of the following.

Could you also add your dogs names to your request so that I can either keep these dogs out of shot when photographing or edit them out later. I will also remove photos currently posted online.

If you do not wish to post here, can you either PM me or speak to me in person with your request. I will not be offended, so please don't hesitate to approach me. :)

well i love to see the pics taken of my dogs think you do a great job so keep it up  :D

Thanks, I've added your presentation pik to the Grasscutter results.

Right I've checked up on this and legally I do not need to obtain consent to photograph either a dog or their owner. So I won't be going round getting signatures (thank God!) however out of respect for my fellow racers, if you do have an objection, please say. :)

Rob and I have no probs with you photographing our dogs :D In fact we're working on the premise that the more photo's we see of them, the closer they are to being champions  pmsl!! Think your'e photo's are lush, keep them coming. (w00t)

How many photographers do you have taking photos of dogs at non peddie racing? Also were are they allowed to stand/sit to take these photos?

It's just that in peddie racing this year at the opens we've had our dogs running into finishes with multiple photographers sitting on the ground (eye level with the dogs) before the line and also directly behind the back lure pulley. We've had experienced dogs pull up before the line and lose races and also had to re-run one race because dogs have been put off.

The only time I've seen it happen was when a pup trialing at Gin Pit glanced at me ( I was the only person along the length of the track) it didn't stop running but it did make me think.

Personally I don't stand at the end of the run in as you'll see from my photos. My preference is to take side on shots (most difficult type lol) and I stand along the lines within the crowd. I don't know about peddy racing but with non-peds we all stand along the length of the track which is sectioned off along it's length by either tape or netting.

I've also sat at the corner of a funnel at the Derby which worked because the dogs couldn't see me for the crowds infront.

I've never seen any photographer standing either on the track or at the end of the run off, the judges wouldn't allow it and there'd be a serious health and safety issue if you stood at the end of the track with scratch racing! (w00t)

Our dogs say.....

" Thank you-Yes please.......We don't mind having our pics taken"
