Hi, thought I'd post a couple of pics of Ben who I adopted through the RSPCA this morning, and collected this afternoon :D :D :D .

DSCF0038.JPG

Those are the only 2 good pics I've managed so far, I'll post more if and when I do better :b .

PS Big thanks to Lolcoe, my personal dog dating agency!

PS Weren't you the one who was NEVER going to have a whippet??? :- "

What a handsome lad  To me, he definitely looks like he has German Shepherd in him - obviously mixed with something smooth and running doggy!

Good luck, hope he settles in nice and quickly :luck:

Wow!! He's handsome. Congratulations! He looks a very happy lad.

Yes i can vaguely remember you saying that David :- "

Could be the K9 bug kicking in (w00t)

This time last year i said i fancied getting a whippet, now the 2nd one is on its way!

Thats strange he looks just like my whippet pup (will be one at end of month), including the ears

Thanks everyone for your positive comments. Ben seems to be settling in nicely so far :D . I've just spent most of the day trying to burn off some of his considerable energy, shame I can't let him off the lead yet cos he really does want to have a good run around :( . He saw a cat whilst we were walking and nearly pulled my arm out of it's socket and frantically scanned around for a good 5 mins trying to figure out where it went!

Errr.. he's not exactly a whippet :- " . I blame this website...and the individual I mentioned earlier (and Rebel).

I was told he's a whippet x lurcher. The lurcher must've had GS in him/her, I can definitely see it in Ben

Ben is 2 and ended up with the RSPCA due to a family break-up, rather than any abuse or neglect, so he's a reasonably well balanced fella, plus he's housetrained and knows a few basic commands (landed on my feet with this one :D ) He was in the kennels for 3 weeks but he's not too clingy, and he's happy to play or lounge around, which suits me perfectly.

My camera is new and most of my pics have been of a dog shaped sillhouette, but here's a couple of the (vaguely) useable shots I've managed today...

Wow what a nice day it looks like you had.Great pics.Hope you both have many years of fun and cuddles together.Welcome Ben.

We actually had typical Cumbrian weather today...rain, hailstones and a freezing wind this morning, warm with blinding sunshine this afternoon  .

Im really glad he has settled in and being good. I do not hold myself responsible for your choice of breed :- " :- " :- "

But i suppose hearing "Rebel this and Rebel that" might have some bearing on it!!!

He's absolutely lovely and yes you have done well with him
