some good advice over on the whippetforum on the subject of ferrets and housing, not really advisable to house just the one though as they are sociable animals,.

As a very recent convert to the joys of ferret ownership I'd say you should have at least 2, preferably 3 (w00t) They really do love ferrety company & cuddle up together & play fight & rough & tumble. I think one would be lonely on it's own :(

I got mine last Dec & honestly hadn't got a clue. I asked on here & got lots of very good advice. I think my trio are happy little ferrets  They have 2 double decker hutches side by side linked by a tunnel. Thay also come out to play on the ferret proofed :- " patio at least once a day.

This is my set up, it wasn't quite finished then & there seems to be a Bedlington trying to move in.

This one shows the set up but was taken in winter when it never stopped raining, so the plastic cover was on all the time then. Now that's gone but you have to be very careful that the housing is not in direct sunlight as ferrets suffer from heatstroke, they can cope with cold(they were fine all through winter) but can't cope with heat.

I really do get a lot of entertainment from watching them (Yes I know, I should get out more  )

Yes Keith. They are rescued, free to a good home ferrets. What a bargain :- " We have since spent a fortune on building/buying hutches, they even have a weekend hutch for when they go to my friends if we go away, putting extra bits of fencing around to keep the little buggas from escaping. Yep, an absolute bargain.

This is Slinky, my white one. She is the escape artist & will go over, under or through in an effort to get out. Ungrateful ferret
