Here is a collection of photos taken at a superb meeting held in Roscrea today. The Enniscorthy lads had a clean sweep taking all the titles on offer.

There were 62 Courses ran today over a 320 yard stretch, real tough going for all those that made it as far as the semis !

Main winner was Martin Kennys young 13 month old bitch LIGHTNING and mark my words she is !

Runner up John Carrolls GINGER

Consolation winner was SPEEDO

Small dog winner Mark O`Neills BUTCH

Great sport, weather, field and craic !

Next meet St. Patricks weekend where I will try and entice some of you over from England to take on the best here ! No prisoners taken at this type of meet !

You missed a great day Deadrie and Patsy.What a venue,and better lads you couldn't meet.We had sandwiches and hot food to finish the day off.Ive been at my mums most of today,so haven't yet got my penny's worth on here yet.But i promise you ,there are some crackin piccies to come on this thread yet. ...Billy...

ONE MY OWN PUPS,WHO WENT DOWN WEXFORD,RUNNING AGAINST THE OUTRIGHT SMALL DOG CHAMPION

GOING BY ME,SHE HAD JUST GONE IN FRONT,AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL OVER

This was Buster,in his 1st real race.He came from well behind,and was going past,when he decided it was over for him,and wanted to play with his opposition,thereby losing the race by a length.But he's not a year old yet,and this was the beaten finalist who he was against.

AHH.This boy was all growed up at this event,and as there was a by run in the 1/4 final,i was offered the chance of a fun run,just to make up the numbers.Guess what he done,on his very 1st run,since he was 10 months old.

This was the lad who ran the whole event,and he wanted to buy this boy.But he weren't for sale.

Then OUR DANNYBOY,got another run,as there was also a by in the 2nd semi final.This time to give the other bitch a good clear run,he was slipped about 5 lengths behind her,so that there would be nothing to give her any trouble.But after losing his legs,and almost falling,about 2/3 of the way up,he still went by her,and won the semi by a couple of lengths.Wish id have put him in the competition,instead of Buster,cause it looks like i would have been bringing the trophy home to the NORTH.But as i thought him a bit big for the small dogs,i was only trying to be fare.He wouldn't have been the smallest in the competition though.This is him in his 2nd run.This wee bitch is a real flyer,and has proved herself a hard one to beat down south.

This is Ernie's semi final.Thought it was the other one.(sorree)

This shot was of the big dog final,but as i was talking with Gavin,i almost missed the whole race,and just swung round with the camera in time to snap this one.

These few are of the small dog final,and both parties belong to the same bloke.These 2 dogs are sort of unbeatable,in ENNISCORTHY.Guess OUR DANNYBOY did ok then,cause the winner beat the one that Danny beat,(twice)by about 2 lengths,and Danny came from 5 behind,to win by 2.It seems Kirsty has herself quite a pup,as he isn't even lure trained yet,and only on maintenence grub at the moment.

Back to the pub,for some grub,and the presentation ceremony.

Last,but not least.Afew of the winner's,dog's,and winnings,outside on ,or rather,just off,the main bloomin road,through Roscrea.

Now this13/14 month old bitch was badly missed,as Martin Tucker gave her away for nowt,when the racing was over.She can run too,for a pup,and should be summit to be reconed with next year.Her new owner is from Wexford,(no bloomin wonder he's like a cheshire cat)and a brother to the lad who came up for a couple of my last pups,and is coming up again this weekend with his mates,for another few.Guess there will be plenty of competition in that family.

Thats it folks,as i guess you will be fed up looking at this effort.Can i just congratulate Gavin on his effort too,as i think he did great for his 1st lurcher racing effort.Can i add too,that the sun was playing games with both of us,and we had to keep changing the camera settings.

I didn`t give the bitch away Billy, she`s gone down to my friend John, who will race her down at their track in Enniscorthy every week. There`s nothing around here and the racing up the North is a non event compard to this kind of Sport. To have to keep her `till St.Patricks day for the next event around here wouldn`t be fair on her !

She came on well since her first outing in Birr, where she hadn`t a clue and I was delighted she ran so well. Her age beat her yesterday, as 4 runs up that field was a lot for a baby.

Glad you enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing that WADDLE OFF pup running next year. With his breeding I would have an added interest.

Ive given him 6the best start he could have Martin,and held him back,when i knew it would benefit him to do so.Ae too eager to see what they have,and maybe go too early with them.OK if they have plenty of whippet coming through in the breeding.But if they've sort of gone by the greyhound side,then if they don't need to be raced,then what's the point.I think yesterday,will be hard to beat,and it would be nice if some of the top dog's from up here would go down and take the lads on.At the end of the day,it's a great bit of sport,and those lads realy loved every minute of it,even when they were put out of the competition.I recon i might have summit for Paddy's day,going by what ive seen.Might send him down to you for a few weeks,for a bit of schoolin,along with my Reni bitch,who also looks the buisness.Tell Gavin to keep thet camera with him,where ever he goes.Like a gun slinger would carry his gun. will talk soon Martin,when ive a bitch ready for Ningbo.

Forgat to add that after wining his 1st heat,TEDDY BOY had to take on his sire,ERNIE,in the 1/4 final.As you can see from this pic,he just hasn't got the legs right.But then he is only starting out in life.

The we brindle bitch,in this pic,is Teddy's sister,and i feel she would have won her heat,if the lure wasn't just at their noses,as she sweved a few times to try and strike at it,losing the momentum of her legs.

Colin,i haven't a clue,about whats going on mate,as the racing is nothing to do with me.I do recon that the dogs from up here could take on,and beat the dogs down south.Was just thinking of Zena,and Colt and Jack n China,while i was down there,and reconed we from up here could go down and do the buisness.Thats all i meant mate.Maybe i worded it a bit wrong somewhere,but i was not getting at anyone,just trying to entice us all to go down and do the buis.I thought i was doing everyone a good turn,by putting all the pix on here,but it seems i wasn't.If Martin didn't bother to answer youre pm,then i dont know why,but i wish you had come down.Zena's name was not on the card,just Paris.Ive been through a hell of a lot over the past week,and thought if i went down,it would lift my head a bit.Now after the dirty rotten pm im getting about this whole thing from Deidrie i dont think i realy want to take any more photo's of dogs racing,and soon as i find a way,i will be putting the pm on here.Ive been sat in the house in tears almost every day,since my dad died,and now i have people pm me about this,and bringing his death into it.

Colin.I didn't say a word wrong about the dogs up here.Only that it would be nice if we could all go down and take the southeren dogs on.Surely thats what you wanted to do,when you pm Martin Tucker,to enter Zena.I realy think we could have a clean sweep for the northern dogs,but only if we go down.I only went down to get me away from the house for a day,and only took 2 pups with me for the run,and hopefullya run up the field against each other,or whatever,while there was a break.As it happened there was a place vacant in the wee dogs,owing to Paris not being there,and then Dannyboy got a run as there was a by course in the 1/4 and semi finals.I didn't think my day would bring all this hassle,and things like this.

Talk about being kicked while you are down.
