my black dog archie cut his leg just above the pad on his rear foot 3 weeks ago. we waited 10 days to have the stitches out but when we got him home it popped straight open. we took him back and the vet glued it back together but when we changed his bandage it had reopened so the vets advice was to let it scab over. its now been 21 days and is just starting to make up. gutted im going stir crazy as is archie.

Have you tried "cut and heal". I use it and its really good. Don't know about a large wound though.
