 Just treated myself to this book for Christmas. Havent had chance to read it yet ,but just flipping through give you so much info .~JO~ said:I actually think one of the first things you should do is read the Kennel Club breed standard, this sets out what the physical characteristics of the breed are - then you go to shows and see which ones you like best and fit your interpretation of the standard
Its not just about which ones catch your eye and you prefer, as some people may prefer whippets with hackney front action but that is not a reason to chosse to buy one like this as this is not a true characteristic of a whippet.
Phil Moran Healys book is really good as it has illustrations of the points of the breed standard.

Another good place to look is the Sandline breeders links, they also tell you which country they are. Here is the linkSANDLINE
I spent many nights going through this list, and when i got to Z, I started again. There are many very interesting sites. Also buy some books, have a look on Amazon, but there are other online booksellers like abebooks . Learn about Whippets so you have some idea what are you looking for. Make contact with the breeders who's dogs you like and take it from there :luck: :luck: :luck:
