On 29 March in St Helens the RSPCA did a microchipping session in St
Helens.
There is a rumour going round which I have found on a SBT forum. I have
copied and pasted it as follows. Can you tell me if what has been pasted
below is true?
I look forward to your reply. Many thanks.
'The PDSA have been holding microchipping sessions and free health checks
in
our local parks, yesterday and today.A mate of mine who owns Zappa,Callah's
son, took him yesterday for a health check (mainly to get him weighed) and
whilst there he noticed a bloke dressed in a PDSA uniform watching his
every
move.
When Zappa had been weighed *** turned around and the bloke was stood in
front of him.*** asked him if he was gonna move and he said no,cos he
believed the dog was a pitbull.*** told him to move and tried to push
passed. The bloke said again that he believed the dog was a pitbull.
*** told him to f**k off, said he was a stafford and that he had papers at
home proving so.
The bloke then went on to say he had the power to remove the dog to which
*** replied,'Yeah,like f**k you do'.
Next thing the bloke produces a warrant card as do 2 other people, also
dressed in PDSA uniform. They were undercover police
One of them,a woman, then proceeded to try and take Zappas lead. His owner
was
adamant that they were taking him no-where,so the woman asked if she could
check him over. She took him off and came back 5 minutes later saying he was
in fact a stafford. (How she found that out in 5 minutes is beyond me) but
the original bloke was still not convinced but as the woman was the one who
was trained to identify pitbulls,he could do nothing.
I am only telling you this as a warning because these microchipping and
free
health checks are popping up in all areas and it is now obvious that its
just so the police can go undercover and seize dogs'.
The dog owner was approached after a health check by two of our Dog Wardens
in full St Helens Council Uniform (which is black, quite different from the
light blue PDSA uniform) and they showed their warrant cards and identified
themselves as Council Dog Wardens they never removed the lead or the dog
from the owners possession and only patted it when they were looking at the
dog to ascertain if it was of the Pit Bull type. At no time where they
swore at or did they swear. The entire incident lasted only a few minutes
and was witnessed by a third dog warden. The owner was then free to go on
their way, which they did.
