Woke up this morning to be greeted by a house covered from top to toe in blood - looked like something out of a slasher film.

In the kitchen were broken plates and mugs strewn all over the floor and on Mum's duvet covered in blood was a little Whippet also covered in blood and limping badly when she tried to walk.

Kerri sliced open her foot between her toes and big pad, looks like she's climbed up on the kitchen worktop in the night nosing around, knocked the plates and mugs onto the floor and jumped down landing on top of broken porcelain.

Kerri however, didn't make a murmur - she managed to carry off her prize (an empty box) and attempt devour it's non-existent contents before limping off up the stairs to bed.

As you can image there's been blood in the kitchen, in the living room, in the hall on the stairs, landing 2 bedrooms and Mum's duvet.

Dashed off to the Vet at 8 o'clock this morning and she had a sedative then slept in her blanket in the waiting room before being put inder Anaesthetic and having another clean and four stitches (a procedure I was allowed to watch), no sooner was it over then a still sleeping Kerri was wrapped in a blanket and taken home in the car.

She's still looking a little glum but extra biscuits makes up for anything !!!

Poor Kerri-

Only last week our oldest bitch gashed her leg and pad when a trophy fell on her!

She knocked it off whilst trying to catch flies-

No stitches needed but there was also like kerri's episode- a lot of blood around the room.

Well Karen you shouldn't have so many trophies !!! :D

Lol no seriously glad she wasn't in need of a GA and those pesky little stitches

(w00t) Bloody hell Kerri you daft mutt!

Glad it was nothing too serious Fleesh - hope she's better soon

kerri, next time go for the full box with the prize in.....lol..... get well soon on a serious note

never leave our kitchen door open, or anything on work tops our two leave nothing unturned will eat till they sick

Only one cure for nutty whippets like Kerri, a lock on the kitchen door -_-

Get well soon Kerri

We don't have a kitchen door.

Plus there's never any food left out in the Kitchen so I don't know why the silly mare insisted on climbing up on the worktops.

Even Blaze has more sense and that's saying a lot.

Kerri say's thankyou very much for your good luck wishes but she would feel a lot better if she could see some pictures of her long lost babies Tom and Tiny. (Long lost - 14 weeks lol)

aup nutter hope she soon gets back to herself, hows the one eye wonder doing

Old one eye is looking good Neil, she's had a crap start to the year what with injuries etc. but she finally had her first season 2 days before the Fed Champs which may explain why she'd been flat as a fart for so long. As soon as she broke down she was flying about like something demented. Weighing 29lbs at the minute and about 4½ weeks from season - she's just had to be off track for ripping her stopper open which has thankfuly healed so she's going to club on Sunday then up to Scotland - I just wonder whether she will fly out of her season seeing as she went like a fart into it (another like Kerri lol). But Blaze will be Blaze she's just held 2 cats at bay in the garden shed so I had to shoo her into the house and get rid of the bloody things - I don't think they'll be coming back in a hurry.

Kerri has her bandage off now, I am taking her stitches out about Thursday or Friday but it looks to me like the ligament has gone on one of the toes so will probably end up back at the Vets with me not in a very good mood.
