Hi all,
To start on a bit of a bummer we lost our romanian Cross breed (willow) a couple of weeks back very suddenly due to a tumour and I am missing the routine, walks and adventures already so have been looking around at rescues. I have a little bit of guilt that I'm looking so soon but willow lived on the streets for 6 years of her life and I find comfort knowing her last bit of life was at least good and hopefully made up for the bad and now we have room to try and do the same again.
I came across a hovawart cross through a friend who is quite involved in foreign rescues, this is a breed I had never heard of but they are fascinating! I have done a search on here and found a couple of threads but even googling it's hard to come by many owners of these dogs so if their are any on here can you get in touch please. I realise he isn't a pure bred but it would be nice to talk to people who have experience of these.
A bit of info about him. He is currently in a private rescue in romania where they are treating him for stage one heartworm bless him so he won't be ready to travel for a month absolute minimum but could be a lot longer. He has a slight limp from a old fracture that wasn't treated but it doesn't effect him except the limp yet he is a very happy boy. These dogs that have been through hell always amaze me.
He is quite alot bigger than our old dog willow was a collie cross this dog is 70cm neck to paw and 80cm neck to bottom :O
Sorry I seem to have rambled on haha
