this joke - or is it- is doing the email round:

TWO DIFFERENT DOCTORS' OFFICES

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint.?Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week

and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

-------

The FIRST is a Labrador Retriever.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.

Next time take me to a vet!

good one macha ,how r u and the dogs keeping.

This literally happened to us ... a few years back one of the dachshunds was limping, clearly had a sore back and within two days had had an MRI and a back op, a friend (not an oap) had an equally sore back at the same time and despite being almost unable to walk he waited nearly six months for his op.

until a few years ago if someone local hurt themselves and went to the cottage hospital who then sent you to the nearest big hospital for an xraywhich meant long journey, time, someone to take you, waiting for results etc you didn't go it was too far you went to the local vet who did it for peanuts and got your xray to you in 15mins, they not allowed to do it now though in case of complications from your suspected fractured finger -shame (my father did this when he dropped a motorbike on his arm)

the other difference is the first doctor makes you either pay a bill or you pay monthly insurance which is thereafter more expensive coz your patient is a liability

the second doctor you don't get a bill (unless you count NI contributions throughout your life as your 'monthly insurance') and you are not penalised for being a liability.

AND the doctors and nurses can kiss cuddle and stroke the first patient but not the second !

However some patients who visit the second doctor growl and bite and act like animals whereas the first lot of patients are ALWAYS appreciative of the help given them !!!! :p :p :p
