Before i start i'm not having a dig at the BWRA.

Having just had a proper look at the website i wonder if there are any real guidelines for the prefix's/affix's as there are with the KC.

The KC doesn't allow "ordinary words" as prefix's, such as (trying not to pin point anyone) "Little" & "The". IMO it's going to get to the point where you'll be struggling to name your dog. I think it's a brilliant idea if people have a kennel name or a well known name they consistently use with their breeding then yeh, go ahead but as i understand it, i could register "Little" as my prefix having never owned a "Little" and there must have been hundreds in the past and at least half a dozen running now.

Maybe have to have x amount of dogs registered with a certain name before having that prefix/affix registered in your name.

Poor Lynn bless her deserves a gold medal for helping me with my boy's race names - nearly gave up in the end to go with their pet names.

what they trying to say tony mate lol :D :D

its getting hard for most breeds to come up with an affix or just a name  one of my pups got lumbered with 'nothing for a pair' (how awful is that  )from the kc after 1st and 2nd preference were rejected! in my darker moments i'd wet myself laughing if the kc banned the use of the word 'staff' for stafford affixes

Just using our brood as an example for Vicky ...

Connor's Lass (so called as her sire's pet name is Connor) had a brother called Connor's Lad and has had 5 pups four of which have been registered to race all with the prefix of "Connor's".

Is what you meant by people having a kennel name and having had dogs under that name in the past so that the prefix can be registered ? Kerri and her connections have had the prefix/name Connor's since 2001 and there are now 6 dogs registered under that prefix although the prefix itself is not registered.

I agree that some of the registered prefixes seem a little bit silly and over the last few months and with the new ruling by the BWRA that no two dogs can EVER have the same name I think people have been panicking a putting down words for prefix out of the fear that they may not be able to register their future pups in a chosen name.

i agree,,,i think it wrong wen u take away pll,s freedom,,,, to wot the call there dogs,,,

pll,s might hav to go bac to serial numbers :- " :- " :- " :- " o:) o:)

I have the Guess affix and prefix as I own Guess Who, Guess When, Guess Why and Guess Again,,used to own Guess What :D ,,,I starting useing Guess as all my dog's have Guess in thier name's :D

I do think it's daft that Boy, Blue and a few other's are an affix or prefix as there have been plenty of Blue and Boy used in year's of racing :- " :- " and why can an owner have more than one affix/prefix ?,,, :teehee:

I know i'm a mere ped :D .....but I have *Strike* as a "brought" name through the WCRA, but the kennel club won't allow me to have it due to being a normal word :( .........so when it came to registering my pups with the KC (bear in mind we arn't ment to "repeat" :- " a word  ) .......I've ended up with .....Starstrike, Farstrike, Strike, Strikes, StarsStrike, Stryke, Fleetstrike etc......... ......Yet I can't have most of these an a KC affix  .....makes perfect sense really dosn't it ?? :- "

But at the minute someone could come along and register Connor's as a prefix and you not be able to use it again

yeah cant call any of mine blue now out of blue goblin might buy the alphabet see how that works lol

You're wicked Mutley. :D

Good point Vicky we better get Connor's registered now - at least we're registering a name/kennel name and not just a verb/conjunction/adjective etc.
