Hi everyone
I'm the besotted owner of two small dogs, Molly, a 4 year old cavachon and Poppy, a tiny crossbreed rescue. Molly is expecting her first litter in 2 weeks, and I'm very excited. I'd love to hear what preparations other people have made to welcome puppies, especially what works and what doesn't.

If you don't already have it, buy The Book of the Bitch. You will need a whelping box, heat provision (lamps are popular), time off work for the time of the birth and the weeks afterwards, and the emergency vet number as puppies may come in out of hours time. The puppies will need to be wormed according to the directions of your vet (I assume you have been regularly worming your bitch), vaccinated and microchipped before going to their new homes.
