A small entry contested the 2003 running of President’s Silver Salver at Newmarkest today. The event is normally run over four different distances but the going was too hard and the weather too hot so the longest distance (175 yards at a yd/lb handicap) was deleted from the event. Points are awarded for each run and the distances contested were - 150 yards at timed handicap, 100 yards at 1/2 yds/lb and 50 yards scratch. The final four were:
Satin Spirit – 10 points
Satin Starlight – 9 points
Bonny – 5 points
Split Lip – 2 points
So the trophy goes back to Dave & Carol Browns home for another year.
