I know this is going to sound a really stupid question, but it's been playing on my mind quite a bit lately.

Both me and Hubby are quite heavy smokers, I go through about 20 a day, and cliff is on rollies.

I know passive smoking isn't good for us, and my oldest daughter had a test done at school that monitored her Carbon monoxide levels, which were quite high. She is also quite unfit, and the teacher seems to think it's from living in a house where people smoke.

What I want to know is, will this affect Tascha, and her ability to run/race? She is obviously breathing in lots of passive smoke, as when I'm in the house, she is always right there next to me, infact, more often than not, she's sitting on my shoulder

Anyone with any thoughts on this?????

I think you should smoke outside for the health of your daughter and pets. Smoke will affect dog lungs in the same way as human lungs. I don't want to preach as I have only just given up smoking, but we smoked outside. It might be a good way to cut down and I bet your daughter would be pleased and your house would smell nicer

Thanks for the honest reply Joanna, I did get off the ciggies for just over 6 weeks, put horrendous amounts of weight on, and turned into this ogre who I didn't recognise.

Needless to say, back on them now.

My children don't spend a lot of time in the house anymore, they're at the age where friends are WAY more important than mum and dad, and when they are in, they're in their bedrooms.

It's Tascha that worries me now, (always tried to avoid smoking near kids). She seems to hang onto me whereever I go, even if I go to the garden, I find myself tripping over her.

I dont smoke but i think if i did i wouldn't want all those nasties going into my dogs lungs

When I smoked, I wasn't allowed to smoke in front of the dogs in confined spaces. Bossy uncle Ken lol! :- "

It's also a good way of willing yourself to stop smoking, if you have to go out your way to have a cigarette, i.e. outside in the rain etc, then you would probably smoke less. Andrea, I'm attending a smoking cessation course soon, your going to be my first victim mate! :D

Good luck Andrea if you decide to quit again :luck: :luck:

It will effect everyone and everything in your home, Roy Castle died from lung cancer due to passive smoking when he did the clubs.

Good luck if you give up, make sure you have plenty of people to support you. :))
