hi all...

new to the forum but definatly not new to whippet racing, been in the blood and family for 40yrs at least thanks to my parents. We are looking to get back into racing with a new generation of whippet nuts. Recently we have been to old haunts such as "The RisingSun" down at Wallsend, Coxlodge, Blaydon and Winalton (up near the Commercial pub) with little or no sucess in find a race let alone a dog!!! So anyways here is the whole point of the mail. We are looking for a pup, prefer a dog if possible and we are open to any visits for suitability etc... Like i said its in the blood dad trained and bred a National Bend champion "Kellys melody" a long way back for those who can remember (i think i was 10 when i was in whippet News with my dog "Sally santana"). My two lads (8 - 10) are really enthusiastic (nan is already knitting the colours!!)... anyways any information about events/meetings would be more than welcome so we can attend and show some support for the lifestyle!!!!!

btw thanks to the peeps down the "Rising Sun" on sunday for making us feel welcome. :cheers:

well i think u r the people who came to the rising sun yesetrday where there WAS racing going on lol but il just post some info on the rising sun. the club handicap runs on sunday mornings @ 11am start its @ the barking dog playing fields and we hope to run as much as possibel on sundays throughout the year. ( we will however have to cancel on occasions 4 opens or becoz of the weather) but i will post that on here.

i also believe u were @ bigges maine on sat where again there WAS racing going on lol just a little bit of info on bigges maine this runs 52 weeks of the year even when there is opens on bigges maine is normally still on weather sometimes means it has to b cancelled unfotuantly though.

westerhope is also still running this is normally on sundays @ 11am but they as they only have a few dogs they do sometimes cancel becoz of opens etc.

i do believe coxlodge has shut i dont know if there any plans to re open. winlaton has been shut for a few years now which is a shame but hey means we get more dogs @ the rising sun lol

p.s this is a really good place to look out for pups or u cud try the whippet news as well. we @ wallsend will b keeping our eyes and ears open 4 u too.
