Is there anyone who would be able to give me some advice on this subject please?
Having no experience of cats and kittens myself, I'm a bit stumped for an answer to the question raised by a friend. They have two Griffon puppies aged 4 months and have recently brought two new kittens into their home. The kittens are not phased by the pups at all having come from a home which already had dogs, but the pups, never having been in contact with cats, are doing what usually comes naturally to a dog in that they want to chase. They are going to be big dogs so at 4 months old are relatively big now and their owners are concerned they will hurt the kittens. As I said, I have no experience of cats and my first thought would be to leave them to get to know each other, keeping a close eye that no damage or accidents happen, and see how it goes. They have tried putting the pups into their cage and leaving the kittens to roam about, but they feel the pups could become resentful of this watching the kittens having free reign of the house and not them.
I would appreciate any useful advice on this as although I have no love for cats, I wouldn't like anything serious to happen to them.
Regards
Elaine
