MY LOCAL VET HAS ADVISED ME THAT I HAVE NO NEED TO ADD ANY TYPE OF SUPPLEMENTS TO OUR 6MONTH OLD PUPPIES DIET, PROVIDING HE IS ON A WELL BALANCED DIET, HE FEELS THAT A COMPLETE FEED IS THE CORRECT WAY TO BRING THE DOG ALONG, MY PROBLEM IS THAT "HERBIE" HATES COMPLETE FEEDS AND IVE TRIED MANY BRANDS, HE IS VERY MUCH A MEAT& BISCUIT DOG,THE VET SAYS THIS TYPE OF DIET WILL DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD ??? .

IN THE PAST I HAVE USED SUPPLEMENTS SUCH AS "STRESS,BONE MEAL,COD LIVER OIL,SEA WEED.

THESE SEEM TO HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL,DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS OR IDEAS ON THIS SUBJECT?

hi baldric i have always given suplements to my pups

and adult dogs,as i think with the complete foods most

of the goodness is taken out when soaked,i mainly use

mace which has everything in it,2weeks on 2 off,and a

table spoon olive oil now and then, which they love .

Hi Neilpem

Not sure what mace is, is it similar to Stress which we give to our pups or SA37 which we give to the adult racers?

Do you always use complete or do you feed a mix of meat and biscuit?

hi baldric i get the mace from the bloke who checks my

dogs out,it is a greyhound conditioning feed, you dont

need any other supplements with it,cheap and last's along

time,as for food redmills racer and redmills tracker mixed

i only feed raw meat if the dogs are  racing, twice a week

mixed with their normal food,if their lame or being rested

i try and cut protein level down.

this bit is from a note on the blokes wall who checks my

dogd(a man that feeds all his dogs the same may as well

find another hobby)
