Hello, I am new to the dog world and can use all the advice people can give! I am in the process of getting a Whippet/Bedlington. I have found a person with pups near Plynouth who I'm sure is a breeder. She says the pups will be wormed and frontlined but not vaccinated. Is this OK? I don't want to get a pup that will develop Parvo in 2 weeks time. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of dogs and K9

Not vaccinated is quite common.

Make sure you ask lots of questions and expect to be asked lots in return regarding your work, garden, family...everything about your life basically!

Ask outright if they are the breeder, make sure you see the puppies with their Mum and ask about the Dad if you can't see him - which is quite normal if he's a stud dog living elsewhere.

Ask how many litters they have a year and see how many dogs are around, if anything strikes you as not right, kind, clean, safe... - just walk away, don't buy a puppy unless you're totally happy with its surroundings

And we expect to see photo's on here when you get it!!

:luck: good luck :luck:

Thanks

The breeder seemed genuine and nice on the phone so I'm hoping the pups are good! They won't be ready till Christmas so expect lots of pics in 7 weeks time.

We are all very excited.
