Hello there, i have visited a puppy with my wife and we have found a puppy that we like and very keen on. However, it has not had its first injection and is around a lot of other dogs. Is this normal and nothing to worry about?

Thanks

It depends on if the other dogs are vaccinated. My pups were around a lot of other dogs within my own household (we had 4 adults), and I would allow the odd visitor who was vaccinated (sprayed with a safe spray to remove any potential things being brought in on coat/feet) when the pups were older. I also brought them out to socialise in carefully supervised settings with known vaccinated dogs. Socialisation is really important, so it's a matter of finding ways and means to do it safely.

So if the dogs the pup has been around are vaccinated then this may actually have been really good for the pup as he/she will have had some really good early learning and socialisation.

Thank you for the reply. The breeder did say that all the other dogs had been vaccinated that has been around them. Thanks again.

unvaccinated dogs are a danger thats why your pups first ones are the most inportant it will ever get.
