Hi everyone, to start with I have to admit that it was a big mistake to try to stage as many events as we did on one day, but we did our best and it was a lesson learned, thanks to those of you who made the effort to come and say that you understood and you were very supportive, it is very much appreciated.

Now I want to express my grateful thanks to the members who helped to stage the event, Rick & Mick Clarke, absolute stars they worked on the traps all day long.

Mark Cooper who was half way judge with Bill Hopkins, again Mark stayed there all day long.

Dennis Cockram who did the lure, reliable to the end, we didn't need to ask him he just turned up and got on with it

Irene Cunningham who was judging, again she stayed until the very end, also Linda Broom who took over when our photo finish man wasn't there.

Again Alison Armstrong helped with the draw, many thanks

I think we all agreed the track at Asfordby was in superb condition, well done to whoever takes care of it

Once again thanks to all who attended to make it a good days racing,

kind regards to you all Doreen (BWRA SEC )

why not put this event back to a two day event like it has always been, with the spring classic

a special mention for someone who stood freezing all day who worked really hard also is Lynne Rowley  it was a long day but still enjoyed the days racing like Doreen has said it was a lesson learned .

I think all those who were there worked really hard and deserve our thanks !

Over stretched they were--- under pressure they were !--- but they got the job done--- even if they had managed to get it finished by three oclock i think there would still have been some not happy--- its gone now into the past lets hope something positive is gained from it ---

I myself still cant understand why they need to wait to programe is done before they start the scratch races--- surely these could be run whilst programes are being made out -- two people to do programe others to get on with racing ---Give this a try see if it is possible --maybe even a big black board with scratch races on it at traps would help.and not much extra expense--- Chalk is cheap!

I think those that worked all day, it seems without all the usual breaks, deserve the thanks of all those that attended; They had a harder time than those racing.

If a lesson has been learned over having too big an event for one day than fair enough. I applaud Doreen for coming on here and admitting as much. I don't think there should be a witch hunt over this as it would be an honest mistake.

I agree with Kipper Fluke that racing needs to start sooner after the end of weigh-in. I accept that on some days with big turn outs there is a lot to do to get the programme out. However racing could still start within the hour if half the programme is produced first - so in this open pups and yearling programme produced within the hour and racing started at 12 o'clock and the IBM programme produced while racing is going on. At other events Scratch racers could be called out if the programme is not ready or the programme displayed prominantly in large print somewhere while the printing is being done.

As for the printer breaking down - perhaps a new one as it's not the first time. Our £50 laser printer does 15ppm surely the BWRA can strech to this. :))

WELL DONE LYNNE YOU MUST HAVE BEEN FROZEN I KNOW I WAS AND I ONLY STOOD IN WHEN THE PHOTO FINISH MAN WAS,NT THERE BLOODY LONG STAND IN 6 HOURS

THANKS TO MURIEL WHO IS ON THE GO AT EVERY MEETING AND LETS NOT FORGET THE LURE KIDS WE WOULD ALL BE LOST WITHOUT THEM

by all accounts everybody worked hard under diffilcult conditionsand all deserve praise well done

has dorren or anybody else got the results for the day or have they been on and iv,e missed them

Do you ever give up Mr Banks?

I'll have a go later if no-one beats me to it-but it was a long programme and I may not have it all down accurately-
