My dog recently had a litter of pups 2 died at birth she then went on to have another 3 1 girl and 2 boys. On a recent visit to the vets we discovered that the 2 boy puppy's have swimmers legs :( the vet said there was no hope and we would have to have them put to sleep which broke me. I've read up on the condition and have been working on the boys one of them has improved a lot the other boy not so much I can't just give up on them I have to try and see if I can help them the thought of having to have them put to sleep is heartbreaking....if anyone knows anything at all about the condition the help would be very much appreciated to lose 2 babies was bad enough I can't lose 4 I need to help these boys xx

I think that you should listen to your vet. Ask for a referral to a specialist if you think it would help. This condition is beyond the scope of ordinary dog owners. You need professional advice from experts who have your puppies in front of them.

You could also ask your vet if an ACPAT qualified physiotherapist would be able to help you.

Vets become vets because they want to save animals lives. They do not suggest euthanasia unless they believe there is no hope.

So sorry about your pups.
