This might sound odd but pip our 8month old is the quiet dog we have ever owned, we got her at 12 weeks old and in that time she has barked 3 times howeled about 4 cried a few especially if put in crate if someone comes round. All my previous dogs have barked madly if the front door is knocked at or just because they hear noises, even last night's horrendous round of fireworks going of at random times didn't phase her not a peep. Is it normal

It probably just shows that she is well adjusted and relatively chilled (for a cocker)! My dog didn't usually bark at the doorbell - though he often would if someone knocked on the door instead of using the bell.

I'm just more curious than anything, living on a busy street/road I thought she might have been more reactive like the previous dogs. It's a blessing for next door lol.

It's a compliment to the breeder for choosing good-tempered parents for the litter, doing early habituation work on the pups, and another to you for keeping it up. Pup clearly feel very secure.
