We would like to take Tipsy along to a race and let her have a trial, how long should we leave her until we can take her running. She does go on half hour walks still every other day to get her out. Is it ok to take her after the pups go to their new homes or should we wait longer?

Spry went back to racing last week her pups were 10 weeks old,I wanted to wait until everything had tightened back up and she was fit again, once the pups didnt need her she went out for runs in the woods with the others before that

I think its a case of you know your dog better than anybody :)

Have usually left mine untill pups are at least 12 weeks as I don't take the bitch away from the pups untill 7 or 8 weeks and then by the time they have got fit again and back to near racing weight it another 4 weeks or so. It depends also on what sort of birth the bitch has had and also how many pups and what level you want to race at - club racing should be ok by pups are 3 months or so depending on the birth.
