Hello,

As some of you may know I have two whippets and they couldn't be more different Indianna is the I AM NOT CHASING THAT UNLESS I WANT TOO and Sasha is the RIGHT LETS CHASE ANYTHING THAT MOVES type so I was wondering is nearly three to old to learn to race or course???? What makes a good runner and courser? She is very quick to cover the ground and she doesn't leave the ground that much, so is this the sort that makes a good runner? She is fairly small, she stands at a massive 18 and 1/2" :b (no laughing please as size isn't everything  ) I just feel although she is most happy to be a lazy pet would like to give her something else to do to enjoy her days.

18 1/2 " yes massive (w00t) my boy is 20 3/4 (w00t) and my girls are 19+.

IMO 3 isn't too old to start if your dog is focused on the lure and they will chase it they will be fine

Racing and lure coursing are very different so it takes different things to be good at it, with racing it's speed that counts, but with coursing it's a bit more complex than that the slowest dog in the world can be a good courser if it's competitor doesnt follow the lure properly

I would find out where your nearest club is and take them along for a go :D

Go and have a try 3 isnt too old :luck:

And even if they dont do well youll have met a load of new friends

We're a bit short on coursing events in this neck of the woods :(

Possibility that West Cornwall WRC might stage lure coursing if there's enough interest, and there is occasionally a meeting up Somerset way

I'd like to try my youngest at lure coursing so if you find an event can you let me know, please??

:luck: :luck:
