Hi all

Can anyone confirm that other breeds are allowed to run at Horspath? Just fun runs, obviously, but as well as my Whippet, I also have a lurcher and Italian Greyhound who would love to have a go!

Also, what are the dates for forthcoming meetings?

Any info much appreciated.

Liz

Can't speak for Oxford but everyone is welcome to run at Newmarket.  We run our Bedlingtons every week the club meets so YOU will get a run if you wish. :)

Oxford is a pedigree club and only KC Registered dogs are allowed to race - the only difference being that dogs do not have to have a WRCA passport - this enables people with dogs to tall or over weight to race.  Majority of owners at Oxford do not do not want to Open race regularly but run just for fun we usually have about 50 - 60 dogs racing each time.. Occasionally if someone turns up with the odd racing non ped  whippet it can have a trial but that is up to the racing manager.   It usually depends on the number of races that day and the amount of dogs trialing but Peter is usually helpful. Its a very well run club which is run on club handicap in two groups  so all dogs have a chance of winning.

Next meeting at Oxford is on 20th of October
