Hi all,

I'm considering taking my 1yr old ped whippet to his 1st race meet and am after some info regarding racing at Oxford, such as dates and contact numbers. Also, how easy is it to travel to for a non driver?

It will be his first time at chasing a lure and obviously he will need breaking in gently, so any info on the prcodure for this will be greatfully received.

Many thanx in advance. :)

Oxford next meeting is Sunday the 4th of May at Horspath Road Recreation Ground, this is near the BMW Plant. There are bus stops fairly near but need to know where you are coming from to advise transport.

Hi Mac

Do you usually attend the meetings at Horspath, and will you be going on the Sunday you mentioned??

Can you recommend it as a good venue?

Neil.

Yes we will be there next week I have been going there for over 20 years think the venue is one of the best we have in the country, usually get around 50 dogs plus in the summer months more in the winter. Racing distance is usually 150 yards on club handicap but on Sunday it is weigh in at 12pm.

Hi Mac,

Wow 20 yrs is a very long time fair played to you. Don't think i'll be attending this meet but maybe one in the near future.

WE will be travelling from Northampton (using public transport) and don't know Oxford well, any directions would be very handy.

Cheers, Neil.
