I have a 3 year old poodle x saluki that I'm considering changing to a raw diet. He's been fed on butchers tripe grain free for the best part of a year as other tinned food was giving him runny poos. He seems to have gone right off it lately and all I can get him to eat is kibble from a snuffle box. I know this is probably a bad idea, but at least he's eating that way.
I know a couple of people that have their dogs on a raw diet and swear by it, but I'm still unsure. Have been reading up on a few of the forums and it seems the best thing to do. He loves tinned sardines and I've bought in some raw fish to try and start him off but he's showing no interest. Any advice would be grateful.

My lot are raw fed ...2 jack russells and 3 lurchers none of whom are keen on raw fish ...
They have a minced meat with bone and offal included ...if i only had one dog i would feed natures menu comlete raw ....it has everything in it and you can buy many varieties. ..

My raw-fed dog isn't keen on raw fish unless it's mixed in with other mince either.

I have fed raw products for about 40 years as often as possible, and whenever the raw product has been available.
These days with our life style and the convenience of the internet it is so much easier to obtain.
Not all dogs like the raw fish, but ours have got used to it over the years and will all eat it. It always goes down a bit better if mixed with some meat or tripe.
These days it is so much easier to obtain raw meat products with so many pet stores selling raw feeds and the many online suppliers too.
We have a family of 6 Cocker spaniels all of whom are fed on raw. All but 2 of these were weaned onto raw from 2 to 3 weeks of age, their ages now vary from 10.5 years to 2.5 years.
They do have sensible household scraps and love their raw vegetables and fruit, (all as non essential extras ). We have no waste in this house.
They have beautiful skin and coats and no nasty doggy smell, their teeth and gums are beautiful and NO bad breath. Poo's too are firm and easy to pick up, (almost a pleasure )
We have no allergy problems, no itchy skins, no yeast problems and no runny tummy problems either.

As mentioned by @Tinytom, "Natures Menu" is a good convenient product, they have a lot of varieties including meaty bones and chicken wings.
This is fantastic if you have only one dog.

There is also a very knowledgeable little book mentioned, "Honey's Natural Feeding Handbook for Dogs", which is easy to read and understand, and can be obtained from Amazon, sometimes for as little as 1p.

You will be able to change to raw very quickly without any problems but some people like to take their time.

I’ve recently switched to a raw diet for our whippet. It was an attempt to see whether her itchy skin problem would abate. She’s stopped scratching but I’m not sure if it’s the raw diet or the end of the grass/pollen season however she thoroughly enjoys the raw diet but we’ve yet to try the salmon or white fish trays. She goes berserk when I’m preparing coley fish in the microwave and will picket the kitchen with the cat while it’s cooling. So far the raw diet is 100% successful and thanks to JudyN for her advice and encouragement.
