Found these old paperclippings of my first ever cat Rusty and one of my pet micee

,These pics were taken and published in 1971 (w00t) , in the Nottingham Evening Post

Rusty was my first cat and lived to 19 years , cant remember much about the mouse though . Mind you ,,at one time I had as many as 60 of them . I sold them to a local pet shop for 1shilling and sixpence each

Sure makes me sound old :- "

I d taught Rusty loads of tricks , he was my `dog` . hed jump over little jumps in my garden and went `walkies` on a lead

Lovely pix, my first cat "Mickey" used to go for walks too. He also used to follow me if i went to a friends house and then appear out of bushes to walk home with me later! I had to remember to come back the same way. I used to dress the poor cat up and put him in my pram, he would still be there when I came home from school. (w00t) Sadly, he developed cancer when he was only 10 and had to be put to sleep in the end. :(

what a lovely keepsake - bet it brought back memories finding those newspaper clippings

'Mouse farmer ' then, Jax?

yep  I had them in cages in the kitchen , My main male was so handsome , a huge mouse , a lovely golden satin colour . I remember it as if it was yesterday too . ;) The chap who used to buy them said I must have been up all night painting them as they were such pretty colours .

I didnt like it when mum mouse used to kill and eat their babies though (w00t)

I used to dress Rusty too Juley , and push him about in my dolls pram :b

I wasnt allowed a dog :( So Rusty was everything to me .
