We have recently got a rescue boxer who is very skinny. They had her on chappie and skinners dog food. I want to upgrade her food but don't want to go down the raw meat channel so what would be best for her? She's 18 months old and full of energy but looking at food is a mind field. I tried tails etc before with my staffie and tbh I didn't think much to it and it. She loves her kibble and we have been adding butchers as it seemed alot better than chappie
Any help greatly appreciated with a boxer x

Butchers isn't a bad food , but Chappie, even though on paper it looks rubbish, is actually really gentle on the tummy and is literally a lifesaver for dogs with very delicate digestion.

How long have you had her though? If it's not been for long, keeping her on the same food as she's been on already will be one less stressor for her.

How many meals a day is she having? If it’s two then could you perhaps get in another meal or snack, until she puts on some weight?

I think a lot of adolescent dogs do go through a phase where they’re difficult to keep weight on however hard you try…between still growing/filling out and expending a lot of energy just doing teen behaviour it’s sometimes hard to keep up.

Depends how ‘skinny’ your dog is as to which road you go down. I assume she’s up to date with worming and her poops are ok.
