When I got back from breaking my arm in Wiltshire :b I turned into our street and the power steering started making a horrible noise

Which was a bit of a pain as I knew I couldn't do anything about it because of my arm :b

I go on quite a few camper forums ( yes some of them even camper than this one  ) so I posted on them just to ask if it would damage anything by using it to get it to a garage when it had obviously lost steering fluid

A little bit later I got a message from someone saying they weren't busy so they'd come and have a look at it for me

An hour later a bloke covered in tattoos and called Elvis :D arrived at my door then proceeded to fix my van and wouldn't accept a penny for doing it :)

I'm just going out to check my van is fixed and that it wasn't some strange dream that I'll be telling a therapist about one day  but assuming it is fixed I just thought it was a really nice thing for someone to do for a total stranger

Cheers

Steve

Funnily enough he was an English gent :) he'd just moved to Wales from Portland, not sure where that is but he had an English accent :)

It does restore your faith in man-kind.

Must be a VW thing? This sort of thing happens on the Bongo forum too and they even have a section for people that can be called upon to help other bongo owners in need - it's a bit of a cult (w00t)

You've really got Bongo fever havn't you :D once you've joined forums they've got you good and proper

In 20 years you'll have started a classic Bongo register with its own forum full of people with ancient Bongos barely held together with oily rags

Plus you'll have invented a new wave for Bongo owners with Whippets
