After the rain all week, I couldn't believe that we had such great weather again today.

A busy day as we had two weight groups to run as usual plus a run off between the first two in each final for the Taimo Tankard which is the clubs oldest trophy. It was donated by Major Stubbs, breeder of the Taimo whippets, to be the last trophy run for in the year so its a bit special and one that everyone wants to win.

Both main finals and the run off for the Taimo Tankard produced some brilliant, very close racing.

The AGM was held afterwards at the local pub followed by a buffet.

Winning both Top Bitch & Whippet Of The Year was Dave & Lynne Thomas's Conway Celt (WCRCh Celtic Flite x Conway Lady). Penny was owner bred and has had yet another good season this year on the open circuit. She is 4 now and has been a very consistent racer being a half coat and Sporting Champion and has appeared in numerous open finals, winning many of them. Well done Penny.

Top Dog was Judy & Nigel Booker's Time & Chaos (Time Keeper x Conway Lady) bred by Dave & Lynne and a half brother to Conway Celt

Top Veteran was Judy & Nigel's Time Keeper (Xcess x WCRCh/VC Flybynite) bred by Daphne Kitchen and father to the Top Dog.

Top Consolation Dog was Jane Rankin's Happy Days (WCRCh Catch The Wind x Savernake Kestrel) bred by Angie Sawyer.

It was decided at the AGM that next year we would also have a Yearling of the Year league for dogs under 2 years of age.
