I.R.G. MEETING JANUARY 1st BLIDWORTH

Well I must say that I was very surprised at the attendance at the meeting on such a wet and miserable day, In total 47 dogs went into the traps and with all dogs getting at least 2 runs each the running of such a type of meeting had to go like clockwork, and so it did. I feel as I must single out the lure boy for the day and that was Harry Boyd, he finished up a wet and very sandy mess at the end and although he was rewarded with £25 he was worth so much more. I would like to thank all of you for making it a good days sport and lets hope for more.

hi john we enjoyed our first irg open it went very well we got a nice suprise to beating simson in the 38scr final this will not be our last trip to blidwoth for your opens :0 :0 :0

just a few lines to say thanks for a great days racing all those who worked so hard you did a brilliant job well done it was a credit to you all . Whilst on the day i was really surprised at all those who were at the B W R A - AGM who i saw vote to ban kickboards useing them at this event i myself did not but in future i will if all others do so as it would not be fair to my own dogs to have them at a disadvantage by being handicaped twice my veiws are we should get rid at all events but i do not expect every one to agree with that but if dogs are useing boards i would like to see those who arnt getting an extra yard or two to level the playing fields maybe then it would not be as hard to get rid of them and dogs will all be running on their own merits and not getting help from the owners , you dont see horses or greyhounds needing kickboards so why do whippets need them they never did in the past whilst rag racing or even lure racing in the sixties .

To whippet one, sorry about results, just noticed that i overlooked the scratch final for you and simpson, error on my part, will be ammended in news sheet, no offence was meant, John m

just wondered who used kick boards and who didnt?

aup spunky, from what i remember most of em used boards, and from what i saw those using em must have got a couple of yards advantage, anyway onother fun days racing hassle free.

pleased you had a good day for the first event of 2003, would have loved to be there but to far and to fat 35lbs southern Scott at the moment but he looks happy. I agree with Steve abput the kick boards, it seems before lone it will be back to normal if all racing groups do not agree to ban at all events, still i keep dreaming, well done to all the winners.
