If Carlsberg done lurcher races it would have been as today....what a feast for spectators in the final of the over 23". I have never witnessed lurcher racing as it was today...absolutely superb just to watch. Todays final will be talked for a long time to come and without doubt the winner today has probably won the most difficult race for many a year. In the over 23" there was six heats with six dogs in each heat and the winner of each heat qualified for the final.

Heat 1 ....winner Ellie May....Frankie

Heat 2 ....winner Whistler.....Frankie

ps don't tell anyone but we found out today who is the real trainer behind Ellie May and Whistler as all of Frankie predictions were wrong, Frankie we now know that your just the kennel hand and does as the boss tells you

Heat 3 ....mmm don't know the name of the dog  sorry

Heat 4 ....winner Mighty Colt...John

Heat 5 ....winner Tara ....Billy Harper

Heat 6 ....mmm don't know the name of the dog  sorry

And about 3 hours later...well it seemed that long to the final.

Standing on the finish line it was pretty hard to see which dog got the better start but it seems from all accounts that Rose who slipped Ellie May was like lightening on the draw...there'll be a few offers of money for you to slip other dogs at the next race...you should put an ad on ebay for the higgest bidder  At the halfway point we could see that one of the dogs was leading but no one knew which one until they got closer to the line at which point we could see Ellie May driving hard after the lure with the Mighty Colt hot on her heels, closely followed by four others. The tension in the air was incredible as people were wondering if Colt was closing or was it just the angle we were watching the race from. You could have thrown a blanket over all the dogs as they crossed the line with Ellie May proving 1 length just too strong for The Mighty Colt today and the others a further length or so back. It was just an amazing sight to see so many dogs driving after and chasing the lure so hard and the noise of them galloping past.

WELL DONE FRANKIE WITH ELLIE MAY!!!

As for the under 23" final Rose with Miss Torri proved once again why she is the best wee bitch, Miss Torri that is (w00t) , in the country showing all her competitors a clean set of paws. It was a bit like watching a Ferrari racing against a Mini as the difference in speed has to be seen to be believed...i think that's the second year in a row that Miss Torri has won the All Irelands.

WELL DONE ROSE WITH MISS TORRI!!!

When was the last time a brother an sister both won the over 23" and under 23" All Irelands.

Also WELL DONE STREAKY on winning reserve champion in the show ring...that bitch of yours is always in super condition.

I didn't even think that Torri, Ellie May, or Whistler were as old as that...Torri must have won her 1st All Ireland at a very young age...If she stays fit and healthy she could win a few more yet.

Hey John

Its Nic

Most of what you are saying is true but at what age does a dog stop becoming a pup. In the showing stakes the showing classes are under a year and over / under 23" and over a year over / under 23". So is it that once a dog is over a year it no longer can be classed as a pup? Ellie May is still only 2 1/2 years old, thats still a pup in my book. Frankie will disagree with me. I dont know that much about dogs but in the owners eyes they are always their pups, thats the mother in me you see! I thought Colt was a typical male yesterday he was more intersted in Ellie May than the lure  if you ask me its that he needs to get out of his head.

You tell him to keep his beedy eyes off her. She's getting a chastity belt on!!

It was a cracking day despite the stupid rain. Heres hoping next year is as exiting. We have more to loose than anyone else in next years competition, so thanks to that I have to suffer another year of complete neglect from Frankie ;) but it was worth it in the long run!!

Congrats to everyone who raced yesterday good or bad. This year only goes to prove that the game is still very much on!!

DARREN!

YOU TOLD EVERYONE THE SECRET BEHIND THE REAL MASTERMIND! ONLY JOKING :p

Frankie is the best dog trainer there is, I know this becuase he neglects me to train and keep them, so much money time and effort goes into it and i will complain forever to him, but yesterday only went to show me that its all worth it in the end.

However from time to time he should admit that I AM RIGHT! :p

Next year should be just as exiting, Im looking forward to it already. Did you see one of Miss Ellies other dogs won yesterday in Devon? So its a triple win.
