do you prefere the normal purse net or poke net and do you find the wire runners for the poke net and normal nets better than rings or vice versa.i have just knitted a purse net with a ring on the bottom of the net and a wire runner at the top which does all the pursing.i have used 2mm wire do you think this will be alright.a few pics

a jig me and my dad made using 12mm stainless steal rod,and a block of beach we found in the garage.we drilled wholes at different lengths of the wood for different size runners.the rods can be removed and set into the other holes.

Hi Rew it lools good to me  take them out and try them see what works best for you :luck: I dont think you are going to have any probs with them Just hang them up to dry when you get home to stop them from roting ,and they should last years. Its hard to get home made nets now ! :(

im a mere novice at this game but as an engineer id say this is a clever job and bound to work. i like the wee jig youve made.

thanks for the replies

i have been making nets for about a year.i have probably sold over 100 to other ferreters over the other forums.i make them 3ft and 4ft nets and i chose hemp asits alot easier to knitt with and use in the field.if your ever interested in some quality nets pm me for prices.

looks good mate, im always using purse nets with rings as runners are hard to come by, have made my own nets and always used rings. altho the runners should be a good job. i am on the look out for some nets with runners at the minute, recon i might be able to pick some up at the gamefairs.

looks good anyway mate ;)
