hi everyone just little up date on racing it is on again sunday 18th 3.30 start all welcome..sunday the 11th was a brilliant days racing wit some very close races im sure every one injoyed the day wit the lovely weather we had.well done to all winners john maher won big dogs sh wit shantel to beat my old boy blakie.darren kenny wit chaple lane 2 lenghts middle hights..martin tucker wit ernie 2 1/2 lenghts.consolation winners big dogs darren gilmartin wit jake on a very close finnish.middle hights mattew quilian spike 1 lenght..unders winner was gavin farroll wit bubbles..congrats to all winners look forward to seeing u 18th 3.30 start

Naw ,sorry mate.Different type of racing.Coming out of traps n that.Was even touch n go.Whether,the big days racing would qualify.But as it was up a field,and dogs were slipped by hand.Then there was no reason not to include the winners.You are having youre own final for that one,anyhow mate.Its possible that some of the winners will qualify,at a lurcher sow down south anyhow.Are any of you lads headin to Wexford,or Kilkenny.To the lurcher n terrier shows this month.As i might be headin down wey Dannyboi.

i cant under stand this billy how come when they come out of traps they would not qualify as this take as much winning as a drag how many races did danny run the other day for example shantel had to run four times to win it out right..and where will u get all the dogs for your day if u dont consider winners of our flapping is it not the same as any other meeting onlyh they come out of traps sort of find this a bit strange yes we will be going to game fairs bill..

Ok Shane.A simple explanation to that one.Only for me.The 1st racing you held down there.Wouldnt have been a qualifier.I had to get it made one.The 32 counties Champion of Champions.Was,and is.For dogs qualifying,at proper,Lurcher,and Terrier shows.After putting the case forward for youre racing last month.It was considered.Voted on,and passed.If i have to call a comittee meeting,to vote on every dog race throuout Ireland,that has nothing to do,with a Terrier n Lurcher show.Then i think the main club members,would get a bit pissed off with me.Lurcher racing as we know it up here,and stick to normal rules.Is run with 6 dogs per heat.Starting with the lure siting stationary,in front of the dogs.Its not run in the same format,as live coursing,with 2 dogs at a time.Being slipped,by a single slipper.Or from a set of traps.No matter how many. On the day of the 32 counties Lurcher and Terrier show.We will be having simulated coursing 1st.Followed by Straight racing,and a last chance for the final qualifiers.LURCHERS,WHIPPETS,AND TERRIERS.Then will come what we hope,will be a pretty large Lurcher,whippet,terrier,gundog,and family pet show.Following this.The qualifiers,from all Lurcher,and Terrier shows.Throughout the 32 counties,that have been made qualifiers,for showing and racing.Will be called upon.To take their place,with the elite.All this must take place in one day mate.We are not mirracle workers shane.Just a few lads who thought up the idea of giving the lurcher,terrier and whippet folk.Something special.We run charity events mate,and put everything possible,into them.Please dont knock us,for not being able to include every single race day in ireland,that isnt connected to a lurcher n terrier show.We just cant do it.There was a big pedigree whippet show up here,on sunday.A proper show.With racing to follow.We havent even voted,or considered the winners of this either,as it didnt include lurchers,or terriers.This is our 1st effort,at running something of this magnitude Shane.Give us a chance,to iron out the wrinkles mate.Cause believe me.There will be plenty of wrinkles.Before we get everything to click.Does every greyhound race,or competition,throughout all the tracks in ireland.Qualify for the Derby.Didnt think so,lol.We intend making the 3 or 4 big race days you lads hold own there.Qualifiers.But believe me.If the boat gets rocked to much.The lot will end up all washed out somewhere along the line.Theres been a hell of a lot of money spent on these shows mate,and a hell of a lot of folks time spent,traveling around the country,trying to organise this.So give us a chance to get the 1st one over.

someone enquired on thewhippetforum about racing in the south of Ireland. How can they find out about Wexford and Kilkenny? Are there whippets racing at all these places? (flapper racing usually means unofficial racing for greyhounds, doesn't it?)

billy im not saying anythink or being hard on u at all..are u saying or racing is not proper racing as u said twice in your story [proper]but i thought when u had your members together tat u would of put it forward as u did know we were starting this billy so i left it in your hands...is this not some of the reason u started up this champ of champs to see new people and new dogs up wit ye becos the lads would be willing to go for a good day out racing different dogs and i do think this is wat keeps everyone in the sport..we dont mind wat way it is ran everyone to there own meetings we run two dogs at a time cos best dog always comes out on top no one can make excuses he slipped befor me and so on i seeing to much troble over this maybe u up there ave real honest people..can u post up which clubs then will ave qualifers so we can go there and win and make or dogs part of your day...how many races did danny win the other day to be a qualifer as if anyone asks me tat i can fill them in will enniscorthy be one so can let the lads know :thumbsup:

Meeting called for tomorrow night on this Shane.Yes.Enniscorthy will be a qualifier.Danny run 3 races,to qualify.It wouldnt have mattered,if he only had run one race mate.He qualified by winning staraight racing at a lurcher,and Terrier show.Thats what the 32 counties thing was originally all about.Champion race an d show dogs,qualifying,at lurcher,and Terrier shows,throughout Ireland.Shane.There is not a show in ireland.That dont qualify.So far.U havent held a lurcher and terrier show mate.I have done all i can.To make all of the big race days down there,qualifiers.I am only a very small part of a club,that is doing all it can,to promote lurcher and terrier events mate.Maybe it was a bad idea.To try n give the doggy folk summit else,with,that bit extra.Added to it.I'll be totaly honest her.There is a possibility,that the whole thing could end up on the scrap heap.As there are a couple of lads going flat out for this,and have spent quite a fw hundred quid,from their own pockets,on trophies n stuff.They dont get a penny back folks.We are doing all we can,to make this ,our 1st attemp at holding summit big.A success.

On the day of the 32 counties Lurcher and Terrier show.We will be having simulated coursing 1st.Followed by Straight racing,and a last chance for the final qualifiers.LURCHERS,WHIPPETS,AND TERRIERS.Then will come what we hope,will be a pretty large Lurcher,whippet,terrier,gundog,and family pet show.Following this.The qualifiers,from all Lurcher,and Terrier shows.Throughout the 32 counties,that have been made qualifiers,for showing and racing.Will be called upon.To take their place,with the elite.All this must take place in one day mate.We are not mirracle workers shane.Just a few lads who thought up the idea of giving the lurcher,terrier and whippet folk.Something special.We run charity events mate,and put everything possible,into them.Please dont knock us,for not being able to include every single race day in ireland,that isnt connected to a lurcher n terrier show.We just cant do it.There was a big pedigree whippet show up here,on sunday.A proper show.With racing to follow.We havent even voted,or considered the winners of this either,as it didnt include lurchers,or terriers.This is our 1st effort,at running something of this magnitude Shane.Give us a chance,to iron out the wrinkles mate.Cause believe me.There will be plenty of wrinkles.Before we get everything to click.Does every greyhound race,or competition,throughout all the tracks in ireland.Qualify for the Derby.Didnt think so,lol.We intend making the 3 or 4 big race days you lads hold own there.Qualifiers.But believe me.If the boat gets rocked to much.The lot will end up all washed out somewhere along the line.Theres been a hell of a lot of money spent on these shows mate,and a hell of a lot of folks time spent,traveling around the country,trying to organise this.So give us a chance to get the 1st one over.

billy im not saying anythink or being hard on u at all..are u saying or racing is not proper racing as u said twice in your story [proper]but i thought when u had your members together tat u would of put it forward as u did know we were starting this billy so i left it in your hands...is this not some of the reason u started up this champ of champs to see new people and new dogs up wit ye becos the lads would be willing to go for a good day out racing different dogs and i do think this is wat keeps everyone in the sport..we dont mind wat way it is ran everyone to there own meetings we run two dogs at a time cos best dog always comes out on top no one can make excuses he slipped befor me and so on i seeing to much troble over this maybe u up there ave real honest people..can u post up which clubs then will ave qualifers so we can go there and win and make or dogs part of your day...how many races did danny win the other day to be a qualifer as if anyone asks me tat i can fill them in will enniscorthy be one so can let the lads know :thumbsup:

Meeting called for tomorrow night on this Shane.Yes.Enniscorthy will be a qualifier.Danny run 3 races,to qualify.It wouldnt have mattered,if he only had run one race mate.He qualified by winning staraight racing at a lurcher,and Terrier show.Thats what the 32 counties thing was originally all about.Champion race an d show dogs,qualifying,at lurcher,and Terrier shows,throughout Ireland.Shane.There is not a show in ireland.That dont qualify.So far.U havent held a lurcher and terrier show mate.I have done all i can.To make all of the big race days down there,qualifiers.I am only a very small part of a club,that is doing all it can,to promote lurcher and terrier events mate.Maybe it was a bad idea.To try n give the doggy folk summit else,with,that bit extra.Added to it.I'll be totaly honest her.There is a possibility,that the whole thing could end up on the scrap heap.As there are a couple of lads going flat out for this,and have spent quite a fw hundred quid,from their own pockets,on trophies n stuff.They dont get a penny back folks.We are doing all we can,to make this ,our 1st attemp at holding summit big.A success.
