History so far
Saturday - Yes, us Rixons are the proud owners of a full rounders team (nine pups sired by WCRCh Celtic Flite from our own Millie Any’um). Alternatively, we have enough bitches for a full Netball team – yes 7 of the 9 are bitches.
They were born 6 of them between 22:00 and midnight on Friday, 1st November and the others (3) after we had gone to Bed after 01:00 on Saturday, 2nd November (a surprise when we came down for breakfast). Millie and pups all doing well.
Sunday - At the moment (they are less than 24 hours old) it is difficult to distinguish one from another, from 6 of the bitches, but we can see Red fawn (another Red Wind?), Brindle, and Fawn with a blue mask – the other (easy to distinguish) is a small bitch, - now called Olga - possibly blue fawn with a white blaze and collar.
The bigger of the two dogs – now called Onslow – he is huge weighing in at 312gs (close on 11ozs), the small dog – now called Oswald – weighed in at 150gs (half the size of his big brother). We will attach a picture to these pages in the week when they settle down.
Monday - Next problem how to get a local Vet out to remove their dew claws, our normal Vet wants me to take the lot to Stowmarket (a good 35 minutes drive each way), another Vet in Ipswich we have used will not remove dew claws, so I had to get a third Vet to come out and do the job. However I hate to think what they are going to charge me! But all pups are putting on weight and Millie is back to her old shape, but with a fringe. The Bedlingtons are now used to the squeaks coming from the cage under the stairs.
