Does anybody feed this to their dogs ? It seems expensive ? is it any good ?

You have to look at the ingredients to see how good a complete dog food is. It should have a high % of protein and not contain animal derivatives, colouring, sugar or be bulked up with cereal.

Royal Canin is made by Pedigree Petfoods and I certainly don't like their basic range. They also make James Wellbeloved which seems to be quite highly thought of.

The company used to test their products on animals - I don't know if they still do.

"The company used to test their products on animals - I don't know if they still do"===== its a petfood company??

I tried this with mine a while ago. The Whippets liked it to begin with, but seemed to go off it, so I changed and now feed them Skinners. I thought Royal Canin was rather expensive, although I believe it is a good quality dried dog food.

Personally I prefer to buy products (not just dog food) which have not been tested on innocent animals causing them distress, pain and death.

Opinions are like ****holes, everyone has one.

FWIW, here's mine.

We've been feeding our 19 whippets and our greyhound Royal Canin / James Wellbeloved / Wainwrights etc (basically whichever of the high quality feeds have been on offer) for the past 3 years.

We feed this with beef mince broth & veg like we did with our previous high protein racing feeds.

Nothing I've read would sway me to change because we can clearly see the benefits across the board whether it's arthritis, stomach upsets, coat condition, plaque formation etc, etc

I'm well aware of procedures for animal testing and how being granted permission to do such testing has to be justified. As I'm sure Masta is aware with his connections in the drug industry.

The other matter that if such research has been done, purely for the benefit of all dogs future wellbeing, then ignoring or not utilising the knowledge gained is far more a disgrace in my eyes.

Certainly, many beloved pets have benefitted from research, whether it's supplementing feeds with glucosomine and chondritin or giving a better quality of life to dogs with gastrointestinal problems, the list is endless. We should all be humble for the knowledge we've gained, respectful of the laws and governing bodies that legislate animal testing and take full advantage of those opportunities that are given.

ok  Am mixing mine too (tripe and CousCous) veg also + Goatsmilk

That made me laugh about dog food being tested on animals .

Sorry, off topic .

Just one thing about RC food . You dont need to feed the quantity that you would with a cheaper brand , . I made the mistake of feeding the same amount and my gang piled weight on .

I didn't know Pedigree (Waltham) owned so many different food companies!!!!!!!!! I feed mostly raw, some complete, wholemeal mixer, veg etc. I find some completes make the dogs smell! and f**t a lot, also pooh a lot!!! I use working dog vat free foods, burgess, alpha, skinners, red mills etc, but mostly mixer.
