ROZ

Roz is a 2 year old lady greyhound who didn't make the grade as a racer. She has an unusual white coat with blue patches that is in poor condition at the minute, but will soon become silky soft with some good food and TLC.

Roz is a newcomer to the kennels so we are still getting to know her. So far, however, she has been on her best behaviour and has not given an ounce of trouble at the kennels. She gets on very well with the other greyhounds and walks to heel.

Little Roz is fast getting used to all the fuss and attention she gets at our kennels, and is sure to adapt very well to the home life. Sadly she has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be patient with her during the first few weeks of adoption and allow her time to learn the ropes. We dont think it will take her long to discover the joys of sofa roaching! Roz has not yet been tested with small dogs or cats, but these will be carried out shortly.

Roz is currently in kennels in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This lovely girl will make a smashing companion for whomever decides they have room on their sofa.

**UPDATE 06/2010**

Roz was lucky enough to partake in our KGC Annual Jamboree in Kerry, Ireland, where she was on her absolute best behaviour.

Roz is a gorrrrgeous little greyhound girl who is very, very hard not to love! She is friendly and sweet to everyone she meets, and adores giving kisses to everyone and anyone. She really does soak up every drop of affection you give her, and works hard to return that love in the form of kisses and tail wags. She is attentive to people and is great with children, though right now she does jump up so this would need to be worked on before she could go to a home with very young tots. Really i cant praise this girl enough.

Roz is also very good with other dogs, large and small, and enjoys a playful romp in an enclosed space. She hasn't yet really experienced toys, but we know that once she knows what theyre all about, shes going to have a new love in her life! This girl is bursting with fun and would do very well in a family home. She has amazing potential and deserves her chance at a forever family. Whoever adopts this gorgeous little lady certainly wont regret it! Oh, and she really likes bananas!

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs who are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also dont shed as much as other dog breeds such as retrievers or labradors, and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
